IBD Masterclass 2026's pre-conference day closed this evening, Thursday, September 10, at Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC, with a Hands-On Nutrition in IBD Clinical Workshop — practical nutrition strategies across the Crohn's disease spectrum — hours after the day's earlier Intestinal Ultrasound workshop at King Khalid University Hospital.
The workshop was directed by Dr. Abdulelah Almutairdi, who opened the session before leading the first teaching block on mild Crohn's disease together with Dr. Abdulkareem Al Ruwaili, followed by a question-and-answer discussion moderated by Ms. Dalila Salem and Dr. Noura Albanyan.

Dr. Maysaa Alzaim and Ms. Reem Hawary then led the second block, addressing nutrition in complex Crohn's disease, before the workshop closed with a further Q&A and closing remarks.
Run in a small-group, round-table format rather than a lecture hall, the workshop gave dietitians and clinicians hands-on time to work through nutrition plans across the disease spectrum, from mild to complex presentations.
The session underscored the dietitian's place on the multidisciplinary IBD care team, setting the stage for the two-day main masterclass, which opens Friday at the same venue under the theme "IBD Care Without Borders: Advancing Multidisciplinary Collaboration."
With the pre-conference day's two hands-on workshops now complete — intestinal ultrasound in the morning and nutrition in the evening — SGA is pleased to have given both disciplines dedicated, practical space on the IBD Masterclass 2026 programme.
