Public Health Policy for GI Practice

How health systems and policies are made, financed, regulated and delivered, with worked examples from endoscopy, screening, hepatitis C and IBD.

An open, eight-module course for clinicians who want to shape services and policy, not only deliver care. It moves from the health system and the policy process to evidence and indicators, financing, regulation, planning, advocacy and equity, with calculators for waiting lists, screening cascades and elimination targets. Its structure draws on the PHPSA academy; the GI examples and figures are written for this course.

Educational design

Case-based learning

Each module follows a GI policy problem: a waiting list, a screening programme, a payment method.

Worked examples before practice

Each concept has a short worked example, followed by a calculator or simulator.

Retrieval practice

Self-checks after each module and a random-draw post-test strengthen recall.

Bilingual access

Key points and glossary are in Arabic. Interface text follows your language setting.

Structure and topics adapted from the PHPSA academy (Public Healthcare Policy Society of Saudi Arabia). SGA authored the GI examples and figures here; PHPSA has not reviewed them. Descriptions of Saudi institutions are simplified and should be checked against current mandates. PHPSA
