About SDDF 2026
The Saudi Digestive Disease Forum (SDDF) is the flagship scientific meeting of the Saudi Gastroenterology Association, bringing together 1,200+ gastroenterologists, hepatologists, endoscopists, surgeons, dietitians, and trainees from the Kingdom, the Gulf region, and beyond. The 2026 edition focuses on translating high-quality evidence into routine Saudi clinical practice — from advanced endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease to hepatocellular carcinoma surveillance, eosinophilic esophagitis, and AI-augmented diagnostics.
Scientific themes
- Advanced therapeutic endoscopy (ESD, third-space, EUS-guided interventions)
- Inflammatory bowel disease in the GCC era
- Hepatocellular carcinoma — surveillance, BCLC staging, locoregional therapy
- Eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders
- AI and machine learning in GI endoscopy
- Functional GI disorders and the gut-brain axis
- Pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition
- Quality, safety and value in endoscopy
Associated workshops
Pre-conference · optional add-onEndoscopic Procedure Hands-on Workshop
Intensive hands-on training on advanced therapeutic endoscopy — ESD, EMR, hemostasis, defect closure, stenting, and third-space endoscopy. Small-group stations led by international and regional faculty.
Endoscopy Nurse Workshop
Dedicated programme for endoscopy nurses covering pre-procedural preparation, sedation monitoring, scope reprocessing, patient safety, and complication recognition — the operational backbone of every endoscopy suite.
GI Motility Workshop
Interpretation of esophageal high-resolution manometry (Chicago Classification 4.0), pH-impedance monitoring, anorectal manometry, and gastric emptying studies — with hands-on case-based review.
GI Nutrition Workshop
Practical nutrition management across GI disease — enteral and parenteral nutrition, refeeding syndrome, intestinal failure, IBD nutrition, and obesity medicine. Multidisciplinary case discussions with dietitians and physicians.
GI Board Review Course
In association with the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG)
Board-oriented review across the full breadth of gastroenterology and hepatology — designed for GI fellows, IM residents preparing for the Saudi Board or the American Board, and general gastroenterologists refreshing exam-relevant knowledge.
Workshop fees announced shortly — booked separately from the main SDDF registration via the SGA secretariat.
