A Memorable Event entitled “This is Hepatitis 2011” , Saudi Arabia took part in a worldwide celebration of the “World Hepatitis Day”.
King Khalid University Hospital’s -Gastroenterology Unit, Health Education Unit and Saudi Gastroenterology Association were able to collaborate with the World Health Alliance to formally launch the said event.
Globally, nearly 500 million persons are living with chronic hepatitis B virus or hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections, and these infections cause approximately 1 million deaths annually, most persons with chronic viral hepatitis are unaware of their infections. Our Goal is to raise Public Awareness on “Hepatitis & its Complications through health education about risk factors and the route of transmissions , moreover improving prevention in terms of safe injection and blood transfusion , providing timely diagnosis and making treatment as cost-effective and affordable. Our main Target is Saudi Population through outpatients clinic visitors and their families ,watchers accompany the inpatients as well as anyone or guests which maybe health-conscious interested.
